Hi Aavya. In December, Mary aunty next door hung a big paper star on her balcony. It glowed red at night, and Aavya loved looking at it from the window. One windy evening, whoosh, the star fell into the lane and one point tore. Sam, Mary aunty's son, picked it up, and his eyes went wet. Christmas is tomorrow, he said. Aavya ran inside and came back with glue and coloured paper. Together they stuck on a new point, a little crooked, but bright. Mary aunty hung it up again and switched on the light. It shone. That night she sent a plate of plum cake to Aavya's house. The next morning, Aavya's Ma sent back a box of laddoos. Aavya, when a neighbour celebrates, we can celebrate too. A star fixed by two friends shines brighter.
